FRANKLIN, TN – After a gutting overtime loss in Week 1, Centennial High School’s football team got redemption with an emphatic statement on Friday night, storming to a 42-7 victory over Summit in a thrilling all-Williamson County matchup.
The Cougars absolutely dominated the first half, outscoring the Spartans by 5 touchdowns and taking a 35-0 lead into the locker room. They won on all 3 sides of the ball, grabbing points by way of a kickoff return, fumble return, rushing and 3 passing touchdowns by senior quarterback Riley Turner.
Centennial’s offense came alive, led by quarterback Riley Turner, who completed 9 of 15 passes for 162 yards and three touchdowns.
Their defense, led by standout brothers Kani Johnson and Gavin Johnson and linebacker Aidan Wright- held Summit to just 44 rushing yards on the night.
